The Early Years :

Shreya Ghoshal  was conceived on twelfth March 1984 in Berhampore, West Bengal, India,  to bengali folks, Sh. Bishwajit Ghoshal and Smt. Sarmistha Ghoshal. She used her initial three months of her life in her origination in West Bengal, then she moved to a spot called Rawatbhata close Kota,  Rajasthan, where her  father, who is an Electronics Engineer, was posted.  She has used  initial thirteen years of developmental a piece of her life there and finished her educating up to Eighth Standard, in Atomic Energy Central School, Rawatbhata.

Launch of the Musical Odyssey :

Life at Rawatbhata was basic, flawless, unpolluted, a long way from madding hurry of a city. There used to be social programmes and social get-togethers frequently. Her mother is an artist and both of her guardian are truly socially slanted and they were really included with every one of those social exercises. Throughout those exercises, as a little kid she grabbed her first lessons of music. She used to murmur the same melodies with her youthful words whatever her mother sang throughout practices. It is throughout those days her probabilities of singing was uncovered by her guardian.

At the age of 4, she began taking in music, mostly Bengali tunes, from her first Guru – her mother. She provided for her first stage execution at their club's twelve-month capacity. At the age of 6, she began getting formal preparing in Hindustani Classical Music. She learnt Classical Hindustani Music from Rakesh Sharmaji of Kota, Shri Jayawardhan Bhatnagar, her school's music instructor and from there on, from Mahesh Chandra Sharmaji of Kota. She got her intial presentation to hindi film melodies and rajasthani people from Shri Bhatnagar. She accepted preparing in playback singing from Padmashree Late Kalyanji Bhai at later arrange. In the wake of moving to Mumbai she proceeded her preparation in Classical Hindustani Music with Late Mukta Bhideji.

In Pursuit of her Dreams

In year 1997 she moved to Mumbai with her family when her father got exchanged there. She completed further educating meretoriously from Atomic Energy Central School-4 and Atomic Energy Junior College with Science. Recognizing challenge in seeking after Science with foreseen vocation in Music, she exchanged to Arts, and finished her Graduation in Arts with English as Major from S.i.e.s College, Sion, Mumbai.

Turning points :

1995 She won the All India Light Vocal Music Competition, New Delhi, organised by Sangam Kala Group, in Light Vocal aggregation in sub-lesser level. Famous judges Kalyanji-Anandji and Pt.rajan & Sajan Mishra passed judgment on her at different stages. Her first TV execution accompanied this. It was a programme called "Awaz Nayi Andaz Wohi" in EL TV. This was her first encounter in studio recording.

1996 She was chosen for 75th Children's Special Episode of TVS Sa Re Ga Ma, which she won. Later on she won different scenes of TVS Sa Re Ga Ma the last one being the Megafinal judged by outstanding board of judges including Ustat Vilayet Khan, Anil Biswasji, Girija Deviji, Pandit Ram Narain, Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma and Ustad Zakir Hussain.

1998 She began recording in local dialects (Marathi, Bengali, and so forth.).

2000 Sanjay Bhansaliji and music chief Ismail Darbarji chose her for playbacking for Paro played by Aishwarya Rai, in DEVDAS.

2002 She was started as playback vocalist with the arrival of DEVDAS music.

Miles to go and Promises to Keep…

After Devdas, she has been consistently working and recording tunes with numerous music chiefs. She has recorded film melodies in Hindi as well as in Assamesse, Bengali, Bhojpuri, Gujrarati, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Nepali, Oriya, Tamil, Telegu, and so forth.

She worked with music chiefs like Aadesh Shrivastava, Adnan Sami, Ajay Atul, Amar Mohile, Amit Trivedi, Anand Milind, Anand Modak, Anu Malik, Anand Raj Anand, A.r.rahman, Bapi-Tutul, Bappi Lahiri, Bhardwaj, Debajyoti Mishra, Deepak Pandit, G V Prakash, Harris Jayraj, Himesh Reshamiya, Illayarajaji, Ismail Darbar, Jatin Lalit, Jeet, Joy Sarkar, Kailash Naresh Paresh, Karthik Raja, Koti, K.m. She has been performing everywhere throughout the world and enamouring crowd with her enchanting identity, capability to associate with group of onlookers quickly or more all her musical capacity.
She has judged kid contender in Musical Talent Show " Voice Of India - Chhote Ustad" with extraordinary capacity.
Her execution as a group pioneer and an entertainer in "Music Ka Maha Muqabala" has been legendery.
She wishes to take her musical ability much past the film music and extend her mindset in other class of music specifically Hindustani Classical Music
